This would be best used with narrative writing; however, could still be used in other content answers with both written explanations and even math problem creation. You will also need a timer that can be set for 60 seconds.

  1. Have students read the question or passage together on the computer. They can alternate who reads each question or if it is a longer question/passage, they can alternate throughout one question.
  2. Start the timer.
  3. Partner A has 60 seconds to begin the response. Partner B reads as Partner A types in order to ensure their future continuation makes sense.
  4. When the timer goes off, they switch!
  5. Partner B has 60 seconds to continue the response. Partner A reads as Partner B types in order to ensure their future continuation makes sense.
  6. Cycle continues until assignment is complete.

That’s all for now!! As always, reach out for additional ideas!
