While every report in Edcite helps Educators analyze data and give students targeted feedback, the live progress report allows for this in real time! For the basics on how the Live Progress Report works, I recommend starting here.

Because the Live Progress report updates in real time, you can see results for students before they even submit their exam. As a principal, I was always blown away by how creative my teachers were with using this report to make an immediate impact on student mastery. Below are three ways I saw teachers use the Live Progress Report to impact student mastery:

  1. Bell Ringers: Not sure students mastered yesterday’s content? Start your lesson with a Bell Ringer that has students practice the skill or show the knowledge they should have internalized from the previous lesson. On your computer, have the Live Progress report open, and watch as students complete the Bell Ringer. With immediate results, you can easily tailor the first few minutes of today’s lesson to cover exactly what they may have not yet mastered from the day before!
  2. Exit Tickets: Much like the Bell Ringer example above, you can provide an exit ticket in Edcite and have the Live Progress report open while students take the assessment. The key here is to start your Exit Ticket about 5-10 minutes before you would normally. Then, you can use the extra minutes at the end of class to immediately remediate either a small group of students or the entire class! This strategy is especially effective in the weeks leading up to bigger assessments, when time is of the essence.
  3. On The Spot Feedback: This strategy is probably not appropriate for benchmarks, or exams where you need data that shows what students can do 100% independently, but it’s a great way to scaffold student autonomy when test-taking. As students are testing, you can keep your eye on the Live Progress report to see which students are struggling to pace themselves appropriately. Whether they’re going too quickly or too slowly, you can use the Live Progress report to know which students might need some on the spot feedback for pacing!

These are just three of the many ways Edcite’s Live Progress Report can help you see where students are and adjust your instruction to have the biggest impact. Feedback drives growth, and faster feedback means faster growth!
