2019/20: New Features, Same Commitment 😎

Happy New School Year! Here at Edcite we are excited (one might even say Edcited) for our 6th year of supporting educators with state-aligned assessments and actionable data. To kick-off this school year, we want to highlight some exciting new features and our continued commitments to our Edcite community.

New Features

New Student Interface

Sometimes the start of a new school year is the perfect time to show off a new look. Your students will now see a sleek new design with easy access to a code page for a new assigning pathway.

Assessment Start Codes

Teachers now have the option to generate a Start Code for an assessment! When you have an assignment that you wish to send to students, click “Generate Start Code” and VOILÁ—you just have to tell students the code.

Students can access the code page from their student homepage or by going to edcite.com/start.

Class Specific Codes for Common Assessment
[Edcite Schools]

Edcite Schools allows an administrator to push out school or district wide common assessments (benchmarks, SLOs, etc…). Teachers proctor these assessment with a code. The assessments now have the option of class–specific codes so your first period class can’t share the code with second period before they enter class.

Preview Assignments in a Single Page

While we encourage teachers to try out the interactive student view of an assessment, sometimes you want to just do a quick scan of all questions in one scroll. Now, in the library, you can quickly preview an assessment in one scrollable box. Extra good news for those who don’t like lots of tabs—it can done within the same page.

Improved Look & Feel of “My Assignments” and “My Questions”

Similar to the visual upgrade of the student home page—these two pages just feel refreshed. They also have icons for the most used functions (edit, preview, and answer key), easily accessed view of standards, and a menu for advanced features (including access to the bubble sheet pathway for Edcite Schools teachers).

Improved Reports for Managing Common Assessments

Teachers have loved monitoring in real time how students are progressing through an assessment—and now administrators can join in on the fun! Admins now have a live progress view for common assessments on their team, where they can monitor which classes or schools may still be in progress and which teachers already have all of their submission done. This is great for tracking completions in those longer testing windows.

Speed Enhancements

When everyone at school is online and the local bandwidth is maxed out, the last thing you want is to load a new page with every click. We have streamlined our student experience to make sure that clicking from one question to the next doesn’t require a whole new load and is therefore ⚡⚡⚡(faster). We also have upgraded our teacher-facing pages to make searching by standard and all general functions run quicker.

Same Commitment

Edcite was founded to positively impact students by equipping educators with powerful assessment tools and actionable data.

You can count on us to be a true partner in assessments for learning.

We also recognize that alignment to state assessments is a huge deal and that students need to feel comfortable with the technology when they sit down to show what they know at the end of the year.

You can count on us to be the most aligned online platform—mirroring your state test interface.

We also know that released state questions are like gold and every teacher wants to know if the newly released state test questions have been put on Edcite yet. We have more than 10,000 items just from released state tests and that is constantly growing.

You can count on us to keep sharing state assessments on Edcite as states continue releasing them.

And, at the end of the day, assessments are meant to prompt action. That’s why we make sure that you have actionable data. Whether you are a teacher on free Edcite or you are a school leader on Edcite Schools, we make sure that you have instant data

You can count on us to provide instant, standards-based, and actionable reports.

To wrap up, we want to recognize that our platform continues to evolve because of the feedback and great ideas we learn from our community. Please continue to let us know what you like, what you want to see changed, or just how you are using the platform.

You can count on us us to listen.
